St. Blasien with Albtal & Menzenschwand are
climatic health resort
Clean air – fresh water – pure nature
In St. Blasien, Albtal, and Menzenschwand, you breathe the cleanest air. This is what the "health resort" designation stands for. You'll be above the fog zone year-round, enjoying fascinating views of the landscape of the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. Our water is pure and clean, of the highest quality, and Kneipp pools are available in some locations.
We offer vacationers and spa guests the best conditions for a relaxing stay. The modern concept of "life in balance" can be experienced and enjoyed here, in harmony with body, soul, and spirit.
Due to its unique and protected flora and fauna, St. Blasien and its towns Menzenschwand and Albtal became part of the new Southern Black Forest Biosphere Reserve in 2016.
The diversity and beauty of this landscape is difficult to describe in words and pictures, but should be experienced and felt with all of your senses.

Kneipp spa
We encounter the primal element of water as a source of beneficial power in many places in the St. Blasien region. It is therefore almost natural that the recognized Kneipp spa town of St. Blasien offers Kneipp treading pools to locals and guests at various locations throughout its territory, to do something good for body and soul. More relevant than ever is people's desire for a simple method that keeps them healthy or heals them and has virtually no side effects. After a short hike, you must take off your shoes and socks and walk through the usually fresh water in a "stork walk." It is recommended to only tread water if your feet feel warm at the beginning. One leg should always be completely out of the water and the toes should be bent slightly downwards. After about 30 seconds, you will feel a strong sensation of cold in your feet and lower legs. Then you should briefly step out of the cold water to warm your feet again. Repeat this process several times. After treading, simply wipe off the water (do not dry yourself) and do a little exercise to warm up. Regularly practiced, this therapy strengthens the body's immune system, stimulates circulation, can help with varicose veins, and relieves migraines. When used in the evening, it promotes healthy sleep.
